“We’re thrilled to be part of this momentous occasion,” said Don Louque, vice president of sales and marketing at Global Technology Services. “For a local organization in Winchester, VA to be the recipient of such a large and exciting prize really demonstrates the power of great partnerships. We appreciate everything the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber, Microsoft, and Comcast Business Class brought to the table. It’s exciting once you begin to realize what impact this kind of technology infusion will make for Christ Church. We look forward to working closely with them to implement all of this great new technology.”
In 2008, Global Technology Services was one of a handful of Microsoft Gold certified partners selected to participate in the Microsoft Mid-Atlantic Small Business Engagement Council. The goal of the Council is to help small businesses better understand how Microsoft’s solutions can positively impact their businesses.
One of the first initiatives of the Council was to create the Small Business Server (SBS) 2008 Technology Makeover Event Series. Each member of the Council contacted their local Chamber of Commerce with the goal of organizing a joint event geared toward educating the small business community on how to more effectively use technology in their business. Global Technology Services partnered with the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber to co-host an event at the Old Town Event Center on January 14, 2009. The evening featured food catered by One Block West, drinks, networking and the Small Business Evangelist, a speaker from Microsoft Corporation. Over 30 companies attended.
