Rubbermaid Commercial Products Company needed a better way. They had a very manual process of creating price exceptions for their best customers. Each requested exception needed multiple layers of approval. Each approver needed specific information contained in systems throughout the organization. As a result of the complexity, requests were stacking up.

GTS worked with Rubbermaid to automate the entire process. Together we built a custom .Net application, the PE (Price Exception) application, to allow sales reps to create new customer sales program and business models. Once a rep has entered the request, it then goes trough an approval / voting period where specific business units vote on the validity of the business change. With the advent of this new system, users simply enter all need information into a web form and submit it. It is then automatically forwarded to the appropriate business unit according to the information provided by the user.

This new system decreased turnaround time by days as well as showed a better snapshot of the customer’s current and past sales history.
